Hi! I'm Helen of H Jones Photography. 

I'm an experienced Hampshire cake smash photographer, where I hold shoots at my photography studio near Andover. This is a fantastically fun way to celebrate your child’s first birthday. 

These hugely popular 1st birthday photoshoots are my absolute favourite type of session to run. I love the fact that every shoot is different, purely because every child is different. 

Some children love to get stuck in to the cake, breaking it up and tipping it on their heads, whilst others are very reluctant to get involved, but with a little bit of encouragement from me I can always get some beautiful cake smash photos for my clients. 

I always take my time to interact with your child and am dedicated to getting smiles. I work with you before the session to ensure you get the most from your valued investment.

FANTASTIC FUN!

At my Hampshire cake smash photoshoot, I provide a complete and professional service, so you can just roll up on the day. 

I supply the cake and vintage/classic style outfits and props, plus of course, the post-session bath-tub clean up! You're welcome to bring your own outfits and props if you prefer.

All you need to do is turn up to my beautiful photography studio near Andover, be prepared to get involved (and messy!) and watch the fun unfold before your eyes!

What's Included?

CAKE SMASH and splash PHOTOSHOOT hampshire

Cream backdrop, a giant white balloon and various props to choose from, including a vintage style car, wooden bowls, a miniature rustic style wooden bed, soft fluffy rugs and a little wooden chair

The cake – I tend to prefer a ‘naked’ iced vanilla cake with flowers or a wooden cake topper, or a giant cupcake, to keep it simple and all about baby rather than distracting decorations
A clean up bathtime session in a vintage style bath tub, complete with bubbles galore!

All sessions are booked with a £95 session fee, which secures your shoot and includes:

- Your photoshoot at my studio or chosen outdoor location
- Use of carefully selected props, outfits and styling
- A relaxed, unhurried experience guided at your pace
- Professional hand-editing of your images
- A private in-person viewing appointment to choose your favourites

Digital image collections and printed products are purchased separately.

Digital collections begin at £295, with a range of options available depending on how many images you’d love to keep.

Many families choose to invest in one or two beautiful pieces of wall art, such as framed prints or albums, to enjoy their images every day.

Wall art and printed products are completely optional and are chosen during your viewing appointment.

Prices for wall art start from £275, with larger statement pieces and collections available.

There is no obligation to purchase beyond your chosen digital collection, and I’m always happy to guide you through the options so you can choose what feels right for your family and your home.

Mini session pricing

Mini sessions are priced a little differently to my full photography sessions. 

They are short, carefully timed sessions held on set dates and locations, with limited availability and a consistent setup for each family. 

Because of this, mini session pricing is fixed and packages are not customisable in the same way as my full sessions. This allows me to keep mini sessions more accessible while still giving you the same gentle guidance, professional editing and timeless final images you expect from H Jones Photography.

Your questions answered

A cake smash photoshoot is a fun and celebratory photography session usually held to celebrate a child's first birthday. It involves the child interacting with and often smashing a cake, creating memorable and candid moments.

The ideal time for a cake smash photoshoot is usually just before your baby's first birthday, when they are 11 months old, although some parents choose to do it on or after the big day.

I provide all outfits. I have masses of romper suits, nappy covers, leggings, tutus and dresses. Of course you are welcome to bring your own outfit if you prefer.

I will provide the cake for you - either a giant cupcake or a naked iced cake. If you have any special dietary requirements, please be sure to let me know as soon as possible.

A typical cake smash session lasts around 1 hour, allowing time for some classic portraits, the cake smash itself, followed by a splash in a little tin bathtub, so you take home a clean baby!

Yes, for a small surcharge, as this involves extra time on the day and extra editing time after the shoot.

Every child reacts differently to cake, and that’s okay! I have experience capturing the moment, even if it involves just observing or playing with the cake rather than smashing it.

After the shoot, I will edit the photos to create a gallery of 20+ images. Around one week later, I will invite you to your viewing session where you can choose from one of my packages, plus any framed prints, albums or other products. Check out my pricing page for full details.
