I know that having your photograph taken can sometimes feel daunting, especially with a brand-new baby or lively toddler.

That's why my sessions are never rushed.

We'll take plenty of time for feeds, cuddles and comfort breaks. There is no pressure for babies to sleep, toddlers to sit still or parents to know what to do.

I'll gently guide you throughout your session, creating natural photographs without forced smiles or awkward posing.

Many parents tell me afterwards that they were surprised by just how relaxed the whole experience felt.

My purpose-built garden studio in Anna Valley, just outside Andover, has been designed to feel welcoming, peaceful and comfortable.

Families regularly travel from Andover, Winchester, Basingstoke, Salisbury, Stockbridge, Romsey, Newbury and across Hampshire to visit the studio.

Newborn photography is an unregulated industry, which means anyone can call themselves a newborn photographer.

That's why I've chosen to invest in specialist newborn safety training and ongoing professional development throughout my career.

Most recently, I completed Emergency Paediatric First Aid with Winterbury Training, giving me practical skills to respond in the unlikely event of an emergency.

As my trainer, Carolyn Port, said:

"It's great that, as a photographer working with children and babies, you are keen to learn the skills to be able to help in an emergency."

It's training I hope never to use.

But I believe that being prepared is simply part of providing the professional, reassuring service every parent deserves.

As a mum of two I completely understand how magical yet hectic those early days, weeks, months and years are. 

Photography has always been about people.

Before becoming a professional photographer, I worked in the environmental sector, a career that taught me the importance of attention to detail, organisation and caring about the impact we have on the world around us.

Today, sustainability remains important to me. Wherever possible I choose UK suppliers, quality products that are made to last, and professional print labs that produce beautiful artwork for your home.

When I'm not in the studio you'll usually find me spending time with my family, walking our dogs or enjoying the Hampshire countryside.

Nothing means more to me than hearing from families after their session.

Many tell me they arrived feeling nervous but left feeling like they'd spent time with a friend.
