Hi! I'm Helen, experienced photographer and mum of two.

At H Jones Photography, I celebrate the magic of your baby's first birthday with my timeless cake smash photography sessions, located near Andover, very easy to reach from Southampton. 

I provide a joyful and relaxed atmosphere where your little one can explore a beautifully decorated cake, resulting in candid and charming photos. My focus is on capturing the unique personality of your child and the love shared among your family, creating timeless memories that you will cherish for years to come.

I offer professional maternity, newborn, cake smash and family photography across Hampshire, Wiltshire, Berkshire and beyond. I provide a complete service, so I supply the cake and vintage/classic style outfits and props, plus of course, the post-session clean up! All you need to do is turn up to my beautiful photography studio and be prepared to get messy!

CHECK OUT WHAT HAPPENS DURING A CAKE SMASH SHOOT

I will take some timeless portraits before moving on to the birthday cake smash itself and finishing with photos of your little one splashing in a vintage tin bath with lots of bubbles, which means you get to take a nice clean baby home with you! The session will take approximately one hour and I recommend that you book your photoshoot when your baby is 11 months old, so you have your 1st birthday images in time for your little one’s big day. This also means that they are less mobile and less likely to disappear off set!

CAKE SMASH PHOTOSHOOT SESSIONS MAY INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

Cream backdrop, a giant white balloon and various props to choose from, including a vintage style car, wooden bowls, a miniature rustic style wooden bed, soft fluffy rugs and a little wooden chair
Wooden letters spelling out the word ‘ONE’
The cake – I tend to prefer a ‘naked’ iced vanilla cake with flowers or a wooden cake topper, or a giant cupcake, to keep it simple and all about baby rather than the decorations
A post cake smash bath tub session in a vintage style bath tub, complete with bubbles galore!
After the session, I will professionally edit 20 images and invite you back to my studio for your viewing and purchase session. Once you’ve seen your images, you can choose which photos you’d like to keep forever, supplied as digital downloads, prints, wall art, albums or other products. All sessions are booked with a £95 session fee, which secures your shoot and includes:

- Your photoshoot at my studio or chosen outdoor location
- Use of carefully selected props, outfits and styling
- A relaxed, unhurried experience guided at your pace
- Professional hand-editing of your images
- A private in-person viewing appointment to choose your favourites

Image collections and printed products are purchased separately.

Image collections offer a range of options available depending on how many images you’d love to keep.

Many families choose to invest in one or two beautiful pieces of wall art, such as framed prints or albums, to enjoy their images every day.

Wall art and printed products are completely optional and are chosen during your viewing appointment.

There is no obligation to purchase beyond your chosen collection, and I’m always happy to guide you through the options so you can choose what feels right for your family and your home.

Mini session pricing

Mini sessions are priced a little differently to my full photography sessions. 

They are short, carefully timed sessions held on set dates and locations, with limited availability and a consistent setup for each family. 

Because of this, mini session pricing is fixed and packages are not customisable in the same way as my full sessions. This allows me to keep mini sessions more accessible while still giving you the same gentle guidance, professional editing and timeless final images you expect from H Jones Photography.

As a cake smash photographer near Southampton, I specialise in creating a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere for you and your baby.

My studio is near Andover, easily accessible from Southampton, offering a cozy space for cake smash photoshoots.

Each session includes a cake, props, themed outfits, and a clean-up bath time.

It’s ideal to schedule the shoot when your baby is 11 months old, ensuring photos are ready for the first birthday.

As a cake smash photographer near to Southampton, I provide a wide selection of outfits for your little one’s special session. Choose from a variety of romper suits, nappy covers, leggings, tutus, and dresses to make the day perfect. If you'd prefer, you're also welcome to bring your own outfit for a more personal touch!

Ensure your baby is well-rested and not too hungry before the session, so they are happy and comfortable. You can also introduce them to cake ahead of time to familiarise them with the texture and taste. Bring along any toys or comfort items to help them feel more at ease. Make sure to bring milk / water and some of their favourite snacks.

YES! We will all get cake all over us! You might like to bring a change of clothes for everyone present!

After your photoshoot, I will personally edit your photos to create a gallery of 20+ images. Around one week later, I will invite you to your viewing session where you can choose from one of my packages, plus any framed prints, albums or other products. Check out my pricing page for full details.
