Every spring, for just a few magical weeks, the woodland near Micheldever in Hampshire transforms into a sea of blue. Soft light filters through the trees, the ground is carpeted with bluebells, and everything feels calm, fresh and quietly beautiful.

It’s one of my favourite times of year to photograph families.

My Spring Bluebell Wood Photoshoots are all about capturing natural, relaxed moments. No stiff posing, no forced smiles, just gentle connection, laughter, cuddles and those little in-between moments that you’ll treasure forever.

What to expect from your bluebell session

Your bluebell photoshoot will take place in a quiet woodland location near Micheldever, easily accessible from Andover, Winchester, Basingstoke and the surrounding Hampshire area.

Sessions are:

• Relaxed and child-led
• Around 30 minutes long
• Suitable for all ages
• Focused on natural, authentic moments

I’ll gently guide you where needed, but mostly I’ll let your family just be. Walk, cuddle, explore, laugh. The best photos always come from real connection, not perfect posing.

What should we wear?

Simple, neutral outfits work beautifully in the bluebells. Think:

• Creams, beiges, soft greys
• Muted greens, dusty blues, soft pinks
• Linen, knits, floaty dresses

Avoid bright colours, strong logos and busy patterns, as they can distract from the natural setting.

A very short season

Bluebells only bloom for a few weeks in April, and once they’re gone, they’re gone for another year.

I only offer a limited number of Spring Bluebell sessions each year to keep the experience calm and unhurried, and they always book up quickly.
