I'm Helen Jones, a specialist newborn photographer based in Anna Valley, near Andover in Hampshire. I've been photographing babies since 2017, welcoming families from Newbury and across West Berkshire to my warm, relaxed garden studio.

My newborn sessions are entirely baby-led, with plenty of time for feeding, cuddles and settling. I love creating natural, timeless photographs that capture just how tiny your baby was in those first few days.

When you book a newborn photoshoot, you'll also receive a complimentary mini maternity session during your pregnancy.

It's my gift to you, allowing you to document both chapters of your journey into parenthood.

Many families tell me they treasure these photographs just as much as their newborn portraits, capturing the anticipation before meeting their little one.

The mini maternity session takes place in my studio, ideally between 32 and 36 weeks of pregnancy, and includes a relaxed photoshoot with access to my collection of maternity gowns and fabrics. Family members included.

The mini shoot is complimentary with maternity images £20 each.

Newborn Photography near Newbury

For the best results, newborn photoshoots are ideally conducted when your baby is 7-10 days old. At this tender age, they still have those adorable newborn features—tiny toes, chubby fingers, and soft rolls that make for the sweetest poses. Brand new babies tend to be sleepier, allowing me to safely arrange them in those precious positions showcased throughout my website.

However, don’t worry if your baby is older! As an experienced newborn photographer near Newbury, I can capture beautiful images of your little one at any age. Be sure to check out my blog for stunning photos of older babies.

Each baby photoshoot is baby-led and designed to be a relaxed experience. Typically, newborn photoshoots last around 2-3 hours, allowing us ample time to create lovely images. PRICING summary

All sessions are booked with a £95 session fee, payable on booking. This secures your photoshoot and includes:

- Your photography session at my Hampshire garden studio or an agreed outdoor location
- Use of carefully selected props, outfits and styling, where appropriate
- A relaxed, unhurried photography experience
- Professional editing of your photographs
- A private viewing and ordering appointment to choose your favourites

After your session, you'll be invited to view your edited photographs and choose your favourite images from one of three collections:

Silver Collection - £295
5 high-resolution digital images

Gold Collection - £395

For newborn sessions, the £95 session fee is additional to your chosen collection. For other sessions using these collections, the £95 session fee is deducted from the collection price.

WALL ART AND ALBUMS
Alongside your digital images, you can choose from a range of framed wall art, fine art prints and albums to enjoy your photographs at home. These are entirely optional and can be explored during your viewing appointment.

Your questions answered

It’s best to book your session as soon as possible, ideally after your second scan. We'll pencil in your shoot for one week after your due date. Once your baby arrives, please reach out to confirm the exact date, aiming for when they are 7-10 days old. A booking and consent form will be required, along with the session fee to secure your spot. Photos can be purchased during your viewing session, which takes place about a week after your shoot.

No need to worry! Since babies often arrive at unexpected times, my schedule is flexible. Just contact me after your baby is born, and we can arrange the photoshoot when they are 7-10 days old.

Absolutely! I encourage family participation in the photos. I’ll guide you on how to pose for relaxed, beautiful shots. I also provide lovely gowns for mums and encourage dads, siblings and even pets to join in too, at no additional cost. These photos will be cherished memories for years to come.

Newborn sessions are led by your baby’s needs, so allow around 3 hours. This gives us ample time for feeding, changing, and cuddling, and we can take longer if necessary to capture perfect moments.

Not at all! While the ideal time for newborn photography is usually 7-10 days after birth, I’ve photographed older babies as well. These sessions may capture more awake shots, but I can still create adorable images, wrapping older babies to make them look tiny and sweet.

Yes, I offer a variety of props, wraps, hand knitted bonnets and headbands and floral crowns. Whether you’re looking for a classic setup or a custom theme, I’ll work with you to bring your vision to life. You’re also welcome to bring your own props, such as a favourite toy or knitted blankets from granny, to make the session more personal.

My garden studio is in Anna Valley, near Andover in Hampshire. I welcome families from Newbury and the surrounding West Berkshire villages, with parking directly outside the studio.
