Last weekend, I had the pleasure of conducting family photoshoots at The Lavender Fields at Selborne. Despite the rainy weather, the sessions were a great success, capturing moments that families will cherish.

The Beauty of Lavender Fields

The Lavender Fields at Selborne, with their rows of purple blooms, provided a lovely backdrop. The fragrance of lavender created a calm atmosphere that made each session feel special. The hum of bees and the song of birds added to the charm, making it an ideal setting for family portraits.

Weather Challenges

The weather forecast initially predicted sunshine, but rain clouds gathered as the weekend approached. However, the overcast skies created a soft light that was perfect for photography, reducing harsh shadows and adding a touch of drama to the images. The occasional raindrop added a whimsical element to the photos, with children dancing in the rain and parents sharing smiles under umbrellas.

Embracing the Elements

Families embraced the weather, and the light drizzle gave everyone an excuse to snuggle closer, creating genuine moments. Children, in their raincoats and boots, splashed in puddles with delight, while parents laughed and joined in. These spontaneous moments of joy and connection were beautifully captured, resulting in photos that tell a story of love and togetherness.
