Many parents are surprised to discover that newborn photography is a completely unregulated industry.

There are no legal requirements for photographers to undertake specialist newborn safety training before handling and posing newborn babies.

As a parent myself, I understand how important trust is when choosing a newborn photographer.

That's why I have invested in specialist newborn safety training and regularly refresh my emergency first aid qualifications.

Your baby's comfort, wellbeing and safety will always take priority over any photograph.

Every session is tailored to your baby's needs, and I will never attempt a pose that could compromise their safety.

A Calm, Baby-Led Newborn Experience

Life with a newborn can feel wonderfully unpredictable.

That's why every session is completely baby-led.

There is plenty of time for feeding, cuddles, nappy changes and settling whenever needed. There is never any pressure to rush.

My purpose-built garden studio is warm, peaceful and designed specifically for newborn photography, helping both babies and parents feel comfortable from the moment they arrive.

Most sessions last between two and three hours, allowing your baby to remain relaxed throughout.

When Should You Book?

The ideal time to reserve your newborn session is during pregnancy, usually shortly after your 20-week scan.

When you book, I reserve space around your due date and finalise your session date once your baby arrives.

Newborn photographs are often taken within the first two weeks after birth, when babies tend to be sleepier and naturally curl into those beautiful newborn poses.

If your baby has already arrived, please don't worry. I sometimes have late availability so it's always worth asking. Older newborn babies can still be beautifully photographed.

Your questions answered

My studio in Anna Valley near Andover is approximately 30 minutes from Winchester and easily accessible from across Hampshire.

Very little. I provide wraps, blankets, outfits and carefully selected props. Simply bring your baby, milk, nappies and anything else you would normally need for an outing.

Absolutely. Family and sibling photographs are included in every newborn session.

That's completely normal. Your due date is reserved in my diary, allowing flexibility around your baby's arrival.

Don’t worry! I take a relaxed and baby-led approach to every session. If your baby needs feeding or soothing, we’ll take breaks as needed. There’s plenty of time to ensure your baby is comfortable and happy.

The newborn stage is fleeting, but beautiful photographs allow you to hold onto those memories forever.
