For just a few short weeks each summer, the sunflower fields burst into bloom, creating one of Hampshire's most beautiful natural backdrops for family photographs.

With golden flowers stretching towards the horizon and warm evening sunshine filtering through the petals, sunflower photoshoots offer a relaxed and natural way to capture your family exactly as they are right now.

Whether you're celebrating a growing bump, updating your family photographs, capturing childhood memories or simply want beautiful portraits in a stunning setting, these limited-edition sessions are designed to make the most of one of summer's most magical moments.

There is something wonderfully nostalgic about a sunflower field.

Children can explore, laugh and play amongst the flowers while parents relax and enjoy time together. Rather than stiff poses, these sessions focus on genuine connection, natural smiles and those fleeting moments that often become the most treasured photographs.

The warm summer light and vibrant yellow blooms create images full of colour, warmth and joy that look beautiful displayed in your home for years to come.

These sessions take place at the beautiful Silkstead Sunflower Farm, conveniently located near Otterbourne, close to Winchester and Romsey in Hampshire.

The fields provide an incredible setting with thousands of sunflowers creating a sea of golden colour. Evening sessions are carefully timed to make the most of the soft summer light, helping create the warm and timeless style that H Jones Photography is known for.

Sessions last approximately 30 minutes and are perfect for young children with short attention spans.

We'll wander through the field, stopping at a variety of locations and letting children explore naturally along the way. There is no pressure for children to sit perfectly still or smile on demand.

The aim is simple - beautiful photographs and happy memories.

Soft neutral colours photograph beautifully amongst the rich yellow tones of the flowers.

I generally recommend:

- Creams and whites
- Soft beige and oatmeal tones
- Light blues and denim
- Sage green
- Floaty dresses and natural textures.

Avoid bright logos, neon colours and busy patterns wherever possible.

Sunflower season is incredibly short and exact flowering dates vary each year depending on weather conditions.

We currently expect the shoots to take place during mid-end August 2026.
